How the RISE Chart works

Every month is a new season. To enter the chart, an artist needs 25 votes in that season.
The first 10 artists to reach 25 votes are on the chart for the whole season. Then the chart is full until next season.
Each week the artists on the chart compete for No. 1. The chart closes Friday at midnight, Luanda time, and the week's winner joins the Hall of Fame.
At the end of the season, the artist with the most votes across the season is Season Champion. Then everyone starts again from zero.

Biography

Naurica Maiedila, born Teresa Filipe Maiedila on 5 November 1993, is an Angolan singer, songwriter and artistic director. She started singing at the age of twelve, in the choir of the Catholic church.

Over the years she trained at several music schools, including four years of formal training, studied at the Methodist church with her teacher Mateus and took private lessons with Emanuel Mendes. In 2015 she began a three year course in lyrical singing at the faculty of arts in Luanda, which she later had to put on hold.

She never gave up on her dreams. She joined the band of Bruna Tatiana as a backing singer and stayed for three years, and that open door led her to work with many of the best known names in Angolan music, among them Eduardo Paim, Yola Semedo, Ary, Pérola, Gerilson Insrael, Maya Cool and Jojo Gouveia, as well as international artists such as Tabanka Djaz and Juka.

My goal in music is to carry a message to the world, to enchant hearts, and to make my songs a kind of therapy.

Then she stopped, took stock and felt it was time to build a career of her own. In 2007 she entered Estrela ao Palco and reached the gala shows, but in the week of the gala she could not continue in the competition.

She never looked back, and kept looking for opportunities. At the Festival da Canção de Luanda in 2013 she won the LAC Unitel prize, decided by the public vote, as the most voted artist. In 2021 she won Feskizomba, and in 2022 she returned to the Festival da Canção de Luanda and won Best Performer.

With fifteen years on the road, she has sung with many Angolan and international artists, and her songs are on every digital platform, from TikTok and YouTube to Spotify and Apple Music.

Naurica Maiedila, nascida Teresa Filipe Maiedila a 5 de novembro de 1993, é cantora, compositora e diretora artística angolana. Começou a cantar aos doze anos, no grupo coral da Igreja Católica.

Com o passar do tempo frequentou várias escolas de música, com quatro anos de formação, estudou na Igreja Metodista com o professor Mateus e teve aulas particulares de música com o professor Emanuel Mendes. Em 2015 começou um curso de três anos de canto lírico na faculdade de artes, em Luanda, que mais tarde teve de interromper.

Mas nunca desistiu dos seus sonhos. Entrou para a banda de Bruna Tatiana como corista, onde ficou três anos, e essa porta aberta levou-a a trabalhar com muitos dos maiores nomes da música angolana, entre eles Eduardo Paim, Yola Semedo, Ary, Pérola, Gerilson Insrael, Maya Cool e Jojo Gouveia, e também com artistas internacionais como Tabanka Djaz e Juka.

O meu objetivo na música é levar uma mensagem ao mundo, encantar os corações e fazer das minhas canções uma terapia.

Depois parou, analisou e sentiu a necessidade de construir a sua própria carreira. Em 2007 participou no Estrela ao Palco e chegou às galas, mas na semana da gala não conseguiu continuar no concurso.

Nunca olhou para trás e continuou sempre à procura de oportunidades. No Festival da Canção de Luanda de 2013 ganhou o prémio LAC Unitel, decidido pelos votos do público, como a artista mais votada. Em 2021 venceu o Feskizomba e, em 2022, voltou ao Festival da Canção de Luanda e ganhou o prémio de Melhor Intérprete.

Com quinze anos de estrada, já cantou com vários artistas nacionais e internacionais, e as suas músicas estão em todas as plataformas digitais, do TikTok e YouTube ao Spotify e Apple Music.
